3 days with an indigenous community: the Tsachilas

During my travel in Ecuador, I had the opportunity to stay 3 days (2 nights) in an indigenous community named the Tsachilas. Here, there is not a tourist trap. The stay will be with indigenous people and I will live with them like their daily life is usually. So, you can immediately forget the traditional costumes or the shows only for the tourists. The goal of this experience is to discover their way of life today and the beauty of the region. Day 1 I arrive at the terminal bus of Santo Domingo in the morning around 10h30am. My contact, Byron, is here waiting for me. Byron will be my…

    World tour: Colombia

Step 1: Bogota Bogota is the capital of Colombia. However, as often, the capital doesn’t represent the entire country and, as often, the big cities aren’t my favorite places. However, there are many interesting places to see in Bogota. The first one is the church of Cerro Monserrate. This church is on the top of a mountain and from there, you will have a view of the city. You can climb there on foot and take the car cable. Bogota has also several museums and there are two museums I particularly loved: the Botero museum and the gold museum. The first one concerns mostly the famous Colombian artist Botero and…

    World tour: New Zealand

After Sydney, my travel continues in New-Zealand and more precisely in the North Island. I heard several times that there is not much to do there, and 1 week is enough to see everything. Well, I decided to spend 1 month on this island and verify by myself if it’s true or not! (Spoiler: it’s not, there is so much to do and to see!!) Step 1: Whangarei Whangarei is a small city in the North of the island. In this city, there are many places to visit and one, in particular, I wanted to see more than anything else: Waipu Cave. New-Zealand: the Tongariro Alpine Crossing

Tongariro Alpine Crossing is the most famous 1-day trek of New Zealand. Some people told me it’s also one of the most beautiful 1-day treks of the world. Thus, if you like hiking and you’re in the North Island, it’s impossible for you to miss it! The Tongariro Alpine Crossing The first question you wonder when you heard of this trek for the time: “Is it really the most beautiful trek of New Zealand?”. Well, I haven’t done all the trek in New Zealand, but the Tongariro Alpine Crossing is definitively one of the most beautiful treks I’ve done in this country. What I loved about it, is all the…

Road trip in Ireland by the Wild Atlantic Way

Green, savage, surprising, unpredictable, people used many adjectives to describe Ireland to me before my departure. However, nothing prepared me to the shock I had once there. From the green plains to the mountains, from the beaches to the cliffs, I fell in love with this island during my road trip. My road trip itinerary in Ireland To discover as much as much Ireland, I decided to drive along the coast from south to north. This itinerary has 8 stops: Cork Killarney Galway Clifden Donegal Derry / Londonderry Belfast (see the article Weekend at Belfast) Dublin (see the article Weekend at Dublin) From Cork to Derry, there is a touristic…
